The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank's mission is to fulfill the wishes of eye donors and their families to help another overcome blindness. The families of the donors below have chosen to honor the legacy left by their loved ones: the legacy of sight given to another through eye donation. Each of these donors moves, humbles and inspires us every day.

In Loving Memory of
Heather Anne Everts-Grover
To my Sweetness, Heather: Still giving even after death.
Heather and I are both organ donors. When she died unexpectedly at 33 this past February, her body was shipped to Denver for the harvesting process. Because of her youthful age at death, dozens of organs, skin, hair, bone marrow-so many to mention were taken so that others could live, see, recover from burns and many other ailments. Heather had the most mesmerizing green eyes that I had ever seen. One gaze into those eyes and most people lost a breath. I lost my heart and dedicated my life and future to her and her only. I never expected our marriage to end so abruptly at 7 months. The pain is sometimes overwhelming. But...with each loss comes a gain. I am proud that Heather was an organ donor and I am proud that earlier in June, 2012 her corneas were successfully transplanted into some worthy recipient. Heather was always a giver, a carer of hurt souls. Even after lymphocytic myocarditis took her from this world, she was able to continue giving through organ donation. I love her. I miss her. Someday, we will be reunited forever.
