Ed has been with the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank since August 1982.
In his position as Executive Director, Ed is primarily responsible for the overall direction, leadership and administration of the organization operating under policies and governance of the RMLEB Board of Directors. He also assists the Board in developing organizational goals and establishes and implements plans to attain those goals.
Ed's education includes a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado. He's also certified by the Eye Bank Association of America as an eye bank technician.
Ed has previously served on the Donor Awareness Council Board of Directors promoting eye, organ and tissue donation awareness. He has also served on the EBAA Board of Directors and on many EBAA committees.
During Ed's service on the EBAA Accreditation Board, he had the opportunity to inspect 26 eye banks. He took his knowledge of numerous best practices that he witnessed on these inspections and applied them to the improvement of RMLEB. This helped RMLEB establish and maintain the highest benchmark of quality in eye banking.
Ed strives to promote a work environment of employee empowerment, in which the RMLEB staff is well-trained, capable and confident. This is the best way, Ed believes, to maintain the highest standards and build lasting organizational success.
