Lewis Lyon is a member of Lions District Wyoming 15 and has been a Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank board member since 2006.
He received his associate’s degree from the Torrington Institute of Technology in Torrington, Wyoming. He is also a graduate of Sergeants Major Academy in Fort Bliss, Texas (Highest level of enlisted schooling for Military Personnel).
He has owned and operated Lyon Backhoe Service since1976. He joined the Wyoming Army National Guard in 1966 and early retired in 1998 as Master Sergeant/E8. During his time in the National Guard, he worked from a recruit to a operations non-commissioned officer for a battalion-sized unit responsible for all non-artillery army units in Wyoming comprising approximately 600 service members with over 80 different army career fields for officers and enlisted personnel (musicians, public affairs, engineers, aviators, mechanics, military police, cooks, administrators, supply, and medics to name a few). He served as the Communications Security Officer for the Battalion.
He joined Laramie Plains Lions Club in 1982 where he has held offices including club president for two terms, SD 15 zone chair, and SD 15 district governor. In addition, he served two terms as president of the RMLEB Board of Directors, four years as chair of the Allen H. Stewart Lions Camp Board, and three terms as president of the Quadra Dangle Square Dance Society.
He and his wife Linda L. Bridge have three daughters, Tammy, Tina, and Julie.
