Circle of Light Photo Project Seeks Sponsors

Mark Lyons of Cañon City, Colorado captured the photo below of his kid jumping off a rock into Oregon’s Crater Lake. The most amazing thing is that a year ago Mark couldn’t have seen it. Mark, like the other amateur photographers in the Circle of Light photo Project, suffered from corneal blindness until a precious gift left by a donor made a sight-restorative cornea transplant possible. You have an opportunity to help tell the stories of others like Mark and his donor by sponsoring an important public education campaign. The Circle of Light Photo Project aims to show the impact eye, organ and tissue donors have on the lives of others and our communities through photographs taken by those who’ve experienced sight–restorative transplants. Its goals are to inspire others to leave the same kind of legacy by joining the Donate Life Colorado Organ & Tissue Donor Registry.

Photos from the project are being assembled into an exhibit that will travel to galleries and public venues throughout the state. A comprehensive media campaign will be launched in each venue city. Your contribution or in-kind donation of services will help pay the cost of mounting, framing, display and shipping of the exhibit photos. You have a number of sponsorship packages to choose from, as detailed on the sponsorship commitment form linked below. You can select the level of participation that best meets your needs, and be secure in the knowledge that your sponsorship fee will be used to help fund the Circle of Light Photo Project.

The project is managed by the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization responsible for the recovery and transplantation of donated eye tissues in Colorado. Our mission is to fulfill the wishes of eye donors and their families to help another overcome blindness through transplantation and research into ways to overcome blindness. Each year, nearly 2,000 donors in our service area give of themselves at a time of tragedy to help another. Yet, as you know, the need for transplantable organs and tissues continues to rise.

We're counting on your support, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you in advance for your willingness to support the efforts of Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, its donors and their families to make a difference in our community.
