Accountant - Full time

JOB TITLE:  Accountant

JOB CLASSIFICATION:  Full time, non-exempt


SUPERVISOR:  Accounting Manager


EDUCATION:  Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred.  Commensurate experience may

substitute for degree.

EXPEREINCE:  5 plus years in a non-profit environment preferred.  Advanced Excel experience a plus.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:  The Accountant is hired by the Accounting Manager in consultation with the Executive Director.  The Accountant is managed by the Accounting Manager and Executive Director.  This position is very detailed oriented since it involves compiling information for use in the day to day fiscal and data entry activities of the organization.


  • Assist in the tracking of, compiling and reporting of all day-to-day fiscal transactions
  • Assist processing all A/R and A/P coming into the department
  • Timely handling of all  payments to accounts receivable and balancing of all reports
  • Assist in the balancing of accounting reports and checkbook
  • Helps train other administrative/accounting assistants as needed
  • Assists in compiling all information for CPA audits
  • Masters all modules of accounting package as well as the data entry program
  • Tracks all investment accounts
  • Prepares all financial reports for the board of directors
  • Provides backup to administrative staff to include phone and clerical duties
