Community contributions are vital to the International Surgery Fund.
This endowment fund allows the eye bank to place transplantable tissue anywhere a suitable recipient if found, thus facilitating the desire of eye donors and their families to help another in need. The fund accomplishes this by reimbursing some of the added costs of placing tissue outside the United States.

The Eye Surgery Fund is supported soley by contributions from the community.
The Eye Surgery Fund provides grants to those needing medically necessary eye surgery but who are without the means to pay for it. As part of the program, the eye bank negotiates fee reductions or waivers from surgeons, hospitals and surgery centers.
-
When eye tissue is transplanted, processing fees are collected from transplant centers and third-party payers to reimburse costs. As part of the eye bank's charitable mission, this fee is discounted or waived in nearly 60% of the time at the eye bank's cost.
