The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank will facilitate the recovery, evaluation and processing of your donor's eye tissue. The eye bank is a charitable, nonprofit organization based in Denver, Colorado, and is accredited by the Eye Bank Association of America.

Chartered in 1982 by the Lions Clubs of Colorado and Wyoming, the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank is now one of the world's leading eye banks. The eye bank's primary mission is to carry out the wishes of our donors and to cure blindness through transplantation and medical research. Each year nearly 2,000 people benefit from cornea transplants facilitated by the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank.
The eye bank is active in public education through membership in the Donor Awareness Council, a local coalition of transplant-related organizations. This partnership brings eye, organ & tissue donation awareness programs to public schools, faith communities, and other venues throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
As part of our worldwide humanitarian mission of sight-restoration, the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank has developed an international placement program. Corneas that cannot be placed with suitable recipients in the United States benefit from international searches for suitable recipients. In this way, the eye bank assures that no transplantable cornea is wasted. To assist international communities with their transplant needs, the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank has helped establish eye banking programs on every continent.
As a transplant recipient, we encourage you to schedule a tour of the eye bank's facilities or call if you have any questions about the donation or transplantation process. Contact our Public & Professional Relations Department at 720-848-3937, or toll free at 800-444-7479.
