Restored Sight Becomes New Artistic Vision
Local artists were invited to choose a photograph taken by a cornea or sclera transplant recipient, then challenged to create a new, original art piece inspired by that photograph. The art will be displayed side by side with the photograph that inspired it. all of the original photographs and the new art pieces will be avaible for purchase via an online auction immediately after the opening reception. The auction will be open through November 28 All proceeds go toward helping the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank continue its sight-saving mission and to continuing this important public education program.
The exhibit will also feature images taken by photographer Deborah Jarboe, who died in September, 2011. Deborah was an eye donor and her decision to leave the legacy of eye donation after a life of photographing images she saw is a fitting completion to the Circle of Light.
